Our care groups meet in members homes to study the Bible, pray for one another, and generally encourage each other in our Christian lives. The groups meet every other week. We have two Care Groups: The Abingdon Group meets on Fridays and the Bristol group meets on Wednesdays. We also have a men’s study group that meets at the Church every other Wednesday night. The Care groups are a great way to grow in Christ in an informal setting. For more information about the meetings and schedules, please call the church or look at the church calendar.
The Women’s ministry is based on Titus 2 “The older women . . . admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.” This is a ministry of women to women, where they encourage each other to grow in Christ in all areas of their lives. The women meet Mondays at 1:30 PM at the church for prayer. Look for other times when the ladies gather for fellowship and ministry.
The Jail Ministry
The men lead a ministry for the men who are incarcerated in the Southwest Virginia Correctional Facility. On the second Sunday evening and the first Monday evening of each month, our ministry groups lead worship services and bible studies at the jail. Our Lord Jesus commends visiting those in prison: “I was in prison and you came to me . . . inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me” (Matthew 25:36, 40). If you are interested in taking part in this ministry, contact the church office.
